Design of a container terminal and rail yard in the heavy-lift area at Baku Port
Overview
Design of a 150-slot container yard and 6,588 m of rail tracks with 19 turnouts at the Port of Baku.
A dedicated railway infrastructure and a new single-tier container yard with a capacity of 150 TEU slots have been designed within the heavy lift cargo area of the Port of Baku. The total length of terminal dead-end railway tracks reaches 6,588 linear meters. The rail network comprises 5 loading/unloading tracks, 3 shunting tracks, and 19 turnouts. The track system features a 1,520 mm standard gauge, 5.30 m track centerline spacing, and a minimum curve radius of 180 m. The container platform is fully compliant with GOST 9238-2013 standards, set at 200 mm above top-of-rail and 1,745 mm from the track centerline.
