Design of rehabilitation works for the reclamation and water management complex in Jabrayil District

A large-scale strategic land reclamation and hydraulic engineering project dedicated to the comprehensive rehabilitation, modernization, and long-term expansion of water resources infrastructure across the Eastern Zangezur economic zone. The contract encompassed the delivery of a Feasibility Study and detailed engineering design documentation for the full-scale reconstruction of hydraulic headworks, conveyance canals, and distribution networks across the liberated territories of the Jabrayil district.

The engineered scope includes:
• Rehabilitation and structural retrofitting of major river intake facilities and high-efficiency pumping stations along the Araz and Chaylagchay basins;
• Routing and structural design of main conveyance pipelines and concrete-lined open canals engineered with advanced anti-seepage barriers;
• Design of diurnal and seasonal balancing storage reservoirs to regulate discharge volumes;
• Modernization of on-farm irrigation networks tailored for state-of-the-art center-pivot and drip irrigation systems;
• Implementation of a centralized SCADA telemetry network for automated flow measurement, leak detection, and remote system control.

Executing the project facilitates the return of tens of thousands of hectares of arable lands into active agricultural cultivation, providing the foundation for sustainable socio-economic recovery and regional water security.
