Design of a twin-tube mountain tunnel on the Mughanli - Ismayilli - Gabala Highway
Overview
Structural and geotechnical design of an 884 m twin-tube reinforced concrete mountain tunnel
Multidisciplinary design of an 884 m twin-tube reinforced concrete highway tunnel on the Mughanli – Ismayilli – Gabala alpine route. Developed to negotiate complex tectonic formations and safeguard traffic against rockfalls and snowdrifts, each tube provides a clear width of 11.5 m and a vertical clearance of 7.3 m, with a 4.3 m separation between tubes. The scope includes cast-in-place linings, membrane waterproofing, dynamic ventilation, sub-drainage, and rock-mass geotechnical instrumentation
