Design of the Caspian Dream Liner artificial peninsula
As part of the "Caspian Dream Liner" project, the creation of an artificial peninsula is engineered off the coast of Nardaran in the Caspian Sea (Baku). The primary objective is to construct a resilient platform in the marine area and ensure its protection against severe wave action. The artificial peninsula is designed as a closed-contour hydraulic structure measuring 465 m in length and 114 m in width, covering a total area of approximately 5.7 hectares. The primary structural component is a rock-fill dike composed of quarry rock and river stone, reaching a maximum height of up to 9 m from the seabed with a crest width of 4 m. Wave attenuation on the seaward side is provided by hexaleg-type shaped concrete armor blocks, ensuring long-term structural stability under the hydrometeorological conditions of the Caspian Sea.
